VivaImpose: Millions of publications. One program.

What is VivaImpose?

VIVAIMPOSE is the leading tool for automatic digital imposition. Already on the market since 1995, the program has since then been setting new standards in speed, safety, flexibility and functionality.

Developed in co-operation with leading printers in both sheet-fed and web offset, VIVAIMPOSE is able to process documents with a speed and precision which has never before been achieved. It’s no wonder then that millions of publications are produced with VIVAIMPOSE every year. Our customers produce books, brochures, newspapers and magazines, catalogues and much more for countless industrial customers such as Microsoft, Audi, etc. and naturally for publishers such as Rowohlt, Fischer, Piper, Ullstein, Springer, Klett, Carlsen and many others. Therefore you will surely at least once have held a printed product in your hand which our software helped to produce!

How does VivaImpose work?

From the very beginning VIVA has followed a completely new and revolutionary path in electronic imposition.

The starting point for the development was that our customers wanted to be able to manage the complex technology as simply as possible. Just three simple steps are necessary in the Workstation Version of VIVAIMPOSE to process a job completely in just a few minutes: data import, imposition and output. Only one step is necessary in the Server Version of VIVAIMPOSE to complete a job in seconds: to transfer data to the server, which delivers the imposition fully automatically.

Important Note: VivaDesigner 9 is supplied as a 32-Bit and as a 64-Bit application version. When a full version is ordered, both versions will be supplied. When you download a Free Edition or a Demo version of VivaDesigner 9, only the 64-Bit version will be supplied. With all other versions (7.1, 8.0) a 32-Bit version will be supplied in all cases.

Visual Image Preflight

With the VivaDesigner Preflight option you can define the minimum resolution and tolerance for printing images. VivaDesigner automatically displays colored frames around images that either will not be printed correctly (red) or are within the tolerance (yellow). In this way even a beginner can see directly where there will be printing problems with a specific image scaling.

Extended Image Search

Updating missing images can be very time-consuming if these images are to be found in different folders. With the extended image search, you define just ONE search path, which finds all missing images and updates them automatically.

Deactivate System Fonts

VivaDesigner enables fonts to be embedded in the document. In VivaDesigner 8, all the system fonts can also be deactivated. In this way you can ensure that the user can only use the fonts that are embedded in the document.

Table Style Sheets

With style sheets for tables, you can define the graphic appearance of a table as well as single columns, rows, cells and separator lines with a keystroke. At the same time you can define header and footer rows as well as alternating rows and columns. Table cells can contain text, images, graphic objects or additional tables.

Notes

With notes you can store non-printable information and tips for other users in text and objects. As with change tracking, this option is suited for users who work in a team, or for users who only want to create a report protocol of their work.

Line Numbering

With the Line Counter you activate a non-printable numbering of the text lines for a better text control. The color, font, size and position (left or right) can be determined, as well as the range (e.g. leave every second line blank) and the restart (text column, new chapter, etc)

Change Tracking

With change tracking you can establish who has made which changes in a document. The program creates a report with the exact time and which text was inserted, deleted or newly formatted by whom. Change tracking is therefore suited for users who work in a team, or for users who only want to create a report protocol of their work.
