VivaDoc Server

The “VivaDoc Server” is a server for automatic conversion of documents. The “VivaDoc Server” can convert VIVA XML, Adobe® InDesign® IDML or native VIVA documents into PDF, VIVA XML, Adobe® InDesign® IDML or native VIVA documents files. The “VivaDoc Server” can for example be used in conjunction with Online Shops if users want to create VIVA documents and output these as Hi-Res PDFs. The VivaDoc Server is also extremely well suited for applications in “Distributed Publishing”, where the user may have limited output rights, and a central server takes over the task of creating the PDFs. Also, organizations may use the VivaDoc Server in conjunction with the “Free Edition” of VivaDesigner, which does not enable PDF output.

Note: The “VivaDesigner Server” has no possibility of creating PDFs from VivaDesigner documents automatically. The background is the fact that this function is frequently not required or that another Viva Publishing Server must create the PDFs. This is for example the case when as well as the “VivaDesigner Server” another Publishing Server is used to process forms. This server can also create PDFs.

Price model
You can buy or rent the “VivaDoc Server”. In both cases, as with all Viva servers, the execution of a service and support contract is obligatory. The annual service and support charge is 16% of the purchase price.

VivaNWP Designer (IP Edition)

With the “Intelligent Publishing” Edition, you define a layout and optionally a suitable set of rules. This edition is suitable for simple, DYNAMIC layouts and FULLY automatic production. These include price lists, catalogs, etc.. Dynamic means here that the server calculates the page breaks according to the settings in the template and the data delivered. A further feature of this edition is its ability to produce highly complex layouts including tables, charts and graphs or barcodes. While all the editions are able to process whole pages, the “Intelligent Publishing” edition is also able to build a page from page components. Just like the building block principle, pages are built up according to predefined rules.

The “VivaNWP Server” creates completed layouts fully automatically based on a data source and a template that was created with the “VivaNWP Designer” (CP and/or IP Edition).
The VivaNWP Server can for example be used in conjunction with online shops,
PIM, CMS, DAM, ERP systems or other corporate applications to create VIVA or PDF documents based on forms. In the same way as VivaNWP Designer there are different versions of the program for different application purposes.

Creative Publishing Edition (CP)

With the “Creative Publishing” Edition, you define a layout and optionally a suitable set of rules. The rules are used to define which objects and content should appear how and where, depending on the data. This edition is suitable for STATIC layouts and FULLY automatic production. These include business documents, visiting cards, posters, etc. Static means here that a layout describes one whole page.

Intelligent Publishing Edition (IP)

With the “Intelligent Publishing” Edition, you define a layout and optionally a suitable set of rules. This edition is suitable for simple, DYNAMIC layouts and FULLY automatic production. VivaGate Composer

The »VivaGate Composer« unlimited print-ready layout of image compositions or complete Ads/Pages in a Web browser.

The »VivaGate Composer« is a browser-based application that is especially suited for unlimited layout of image compositions or complete Ads.

An automation of document production fails not infrequently due to the necessity of combining different text/image elements. This is exactly where the VivaGate Composer comes in. It gives the user the possibility of combining predefined or individual images and text in any way on one working area.

With the integrated layer technology and the application of categories, all elements may be placed individually, scaled, switched off and moved up or down in the hierarchy, in just the same way as in a layout program.

With the “Easy Publishing” edition, VivaNWP Designer introduces a “Database Publishing” software with which you can create complex documents quickly and simply. Such documents are for example catalogs, brochures, price lists and much more. After the appropriate preparation, you will create single document pages in just a few seconds with a couple of mouse clicks.

VIVA Publishing Server License Model

The “VivaNWP Server” creates completed layouts fully automatically based on a data source and a template that was created with the “VivaNWP Designer” (CP and/or IP Edition). The VivaNWP Server can for example be used in conjunction with online shops, PIM systems or other corporate applications to create VIVA or PDF documents based on forms. In the same way as VivaNWP Designer there are different versions of the program for different application purposes.

License & price model
The license model for the VivaNWP Server is based on a page model in several stages. The first stage describes the number of pages in a document, and the second describes the number of pages per year.
1st Stage: Number of pages per document. The entry “CP4” means for example that the product is a VivaNWP Server in “Creative Publishing” Edition (CP), in which you can create up to 4 pages per document. With “CP12” a document can have up to 12 pages, and with just CP a document can have any number of pages.

2nd Stage: Number of pages per year. The entry “2.500” means for example that with this server version you can create 2500 document pages per year. Thus in four years a total of 10,000 pages and in 10 years 25,000 document pages are created. It should be noted here that the program does not differentiate between Low-Res and High-Res PDFs or other output formats. Every page is counted. If the user wants to create more than 2,500 pages per year, he must choose a higher option or upgrade if necessary. The price for an upgrade is calculated on 120% of the difference between the price of the server purchased and the server now required. The name »Enterprise« means that there is no annual limit in the number of document pages. Even though the number of pages relates to an annual usage, the purchase price shown is a ONE-OFF price and NOT an annual price.

You can buy or rent the “VivaNWP Server”. In both cases, as with all Viva servers, the execution of a service and support contract is obligatory. The annual service and support charge is 16% of the purchase price.

VIVA Publishing Server

The original from the inventor of the “Publishing Server”:

Leading corporations use the “VIVA Publishing Server” to produce documents fully automatically via the Internet or networks.

“Network Publishing” means: Create print-ready documents fully automatically using a publishing server in the Internet or via a network, without any graphic, typesetting or printing knowledge or experience. While previous technologies on the Internet are limited with simple layouts (e.g. “Web-to-Print”), you produce complete catalogs, data sheets and much more directly from your product control system or ERP system, your Office program or any Internet/Intranet/Web application.

VivaDesigner Server

What is the VivaDesigner Server?

The “VivaDesigner Server” (VDS) is a server technology which the typesetting and layout program VivaDesigner can be used in a browser, whereby neither JAVA nor Flash nor any Plug-in is needed. The only pre-requisite is an HTML5 compatible browser*. Since for communication with the “VivaDesigner Server” just standard ports (Port 80 or Port 443 with SSL) are used, the software can in almost all cases be used by every computer, even by corporate computers with appropriate restrictions.

With the “VivaDesigner Server”, suppliers of Internet shops, CMS, PIM, CRM, ERP systems or Asset Management Software can offer their customers tailor-made solutions that in the realms of layout and typography go far beyond the functionality and capability of HTML, Flash and JAVA applications. With the combination of Desktop and/or Web, completely new processes of customer communication can be created.

    The license model for the “VivaDesigner-Server” relates to a maximum number of users (Instances) with simultaneous access to the server (“Concurrent User Model”). The server registers the number of instances applied and provides each registered user with access to the application. If all the instances are in use, an additional user must wait until another user has closed his instance and thus this instance has become available. Since the usage behavior, i.e. the number of instances required for VivaDesigner, cannot always be exactly predetermined, VIVA offers the so-called “Plus Package”.     Price model

    The “VivaDesigner Server” is a completely open and transparent standard software solution that can be configured and extended according to your individual requirements. Compared to other vendors’ products you can either rent or even buy the “VivaDesigner Server”. Whether you rent or buy the software, you can decide for yourself how/where you want to run the “VivaDesigner Server”. You can host the “VivaDesigner Server” on your computers, in your data center or in our data center.

    Thus the following combinations are possible:

  • BUY and host on customer’s premises or in any data center

  • RENT and host on customer’s premises or in any data center
