10: Protect Scripts (9.5)

Normally the script source code is normal (plain) text and could be reviewed and therefore changed by everybody. With the new deploy options you can protect your script code. Add your name as author and/or define a date for the termination of the script. This gives you the option to deliver demo versions of your scripts to your customers.

Change Tracking

With change tracking you can establish who has made which changes in a document. The program creates a report with the exact time and which text was inserted, deleted or newly formatted by whom. Change tracking is therefore suited for users who work in a team, or for users who only want to create a report protocol of their work.

New Code options

Create over 30 different bar codes in VivaDesigner without any additional software. The list includes such popular codes as QR Code, Micro QR Code, Data Matrix, EAN, UPC, ISBN, Pharmacode, Code One, Codebar, Databar and many codes from post office companies such as Deutsche Post, Australia Post, Royal Mail, Dutch Post and much more.

New Grayscale View

If you create layouts in color that will later be printed on monochrome, it is often hard to imagine the effect of the layout. With the new option “Grayscale View” you can simulate this effect directly on your screen.

Improved EPS Handling

Working with EPS files has been significantly improved: With the new PostScript Renderer technology, VivaDesigner creates a crisp preview of vector EPS images on all platforms. If the use of embedded previews is deactivated in the Preferences, the sharpness and color rendering of EPS Bitmap images also is frequently improved. With this new technology, EPS images can also be used in a PDF workflow.

Native InDesign INDD Import (10.0)

The import of InDesign documents has been significantly improved and adapted to the new functions (new image formats, new path options, etc.). The highlight: We decoded the native InDesign format (.indd). Now you can import not only IDML, but also native InDesign documents in INDD format. This works even if you don’t have an InDesign document.
Furthermore: In the Web Edition you can even drag and drop InDesign documents onto the browser window and open them!
